Love grass at Cascata

Cascata Golf Club is uniquely designed to be a paradise for golf lovers. In 2004, Dr. Thanawat Saprungrueng and his team started the project that turned a flat rice paddy into an exclusive golf paradise.

By October 2006 the team had finished the first 18 holes (Courses A and B, 7,047 yards / par 72) with the concept of a “tropical golf experience”. The inspiration came from Thailand’s location in the tropics and its rich variety of plants – the designer wanted to present golfers with the true beauty of Thailand’s nature.

In 2007 Course C (9 holes, 3,707 yards / par 36) opened to the public and immediately became famous for its “Tropical Links” concept. The designer turned flat rice paddy into a hilly, Scottish links-style course, then added a local touch with water hazards – a stunning fusion we named “Tropical Links”.

To enhance the experience, the designer used a particularly beautiful plant called “love grass”. It catches the sunlight at sunrise and sunset and reflects it into the water, giving golfers their perfect golf experience.
